AM - 10 miles. Really cool trail run w/ Andrea - we were able to link up 4 lakes (Jenny, String, Leigh, and Bearpaw), and even saw a bear! The trail was so smooth - no rocks - perfect for running. Enjoyed this one a lot!

Then we headed up to Jackson Lake and rented some kayaks for a couple hours... paddled a nice loop from Colter Bay to Halfmoon Bay and back. Perfect timing as the rain started coming down just a few minutes after we got back to the marina.

PM - 9 miles to the park entrance & back, then explored around Teton Village and the mansions on the hill.

Seems like the blog had a lot of strong performances at Des News today - both the marathon and the 9.5K :-)  I'll have to catch up later this week. But in general - nice job everyone!!

The trail hugged the shore of Leigh Lake for several miles...

Running along Jenny Lake w/ the Grand Teton hidden from view in the clouds...

Jackson Lake...

That's a bear!

I have to go there some day. Beautiful! That looks like a friendly bear.

Why are you hiding behind a tree to take a shot of a bear? You should have been out there winding it up and then when it started to chase you, you could have said, "Do you know who I am?" and then legged it, while Andrea videoed it from up a very high tree:)

I am jealous. I spent a whole week in the Yellowstone back country last week and didn't see a bear. What a cool trip you've had. It's too bad you and Andrea don't get out more often...

Love that lake!

We saw the bear again on the way back, he looked up at us... its kind of a weird feeling to make eye contact w/ a bear, but he was small (for a bear) and pretty cute.

I do admit to being a baby and hiding behind a tree the first time, though :-)

Steve - all the lakes along the Teton range are just stunning.
