AM - 14 miles. Super easy wandering.

Yesterday I got the chance to tour Rob Murphy's classroom. The only AP History class I've ever seen with a 4 foot poster of Steve Prefontaine on the wall. Made me wish I was 17 again!

PM - 7 miles.

I like that Rob Murphy :) I like your 14 miles wandering, I did that a lot about 3 weeks ago. It's fun.

Ummm you don't wanna be 17 again really do you? I mean, think of all the non perks that come with that. Acne, greasy faces, awkward bodies, growth spurts etc etc.

I am scared to be the first poster. My email is gonna blow up.

I feel like I'm no older than ~20, so it really wouldn't be that big of a shift. Except I don't want to do homework. And to be fair to my own AP History teacher, he was just as big of a running dork as Rob. He was actually my best friend in high school.

I'll throw something in here about how treadmill or trail miles don't count... that should get you about 50 email comment replys :-)

AHAHAHAHA!

Sweet. The only way someone should be able to get a 5 on their AP history exam is if they can answer a question about Pre correct. That should be the new rule.

DD trail miles count. TM miles are negative.

My room is 45% running, 45% history, and 10% art work by Abby and Andy.

No, to get a 5 you need to answer questions like this:

In 1917 a man left Finland and caused a lot of trouble. Who was he?

"Who is that fat ugly monster climbing on the mausoleum? His eye-brows are dark and thick, his speeches are long and empty. He who gives the right answer will receive 10 years." Provide the answer, explain what it means to receive 10 years.

A man died in Leningrad in 1938 at the age of 30. Propose a likely cause of his death.

Two boys are playing a game with checkers lining them up in a row and taking turns flicking them in an attempt to knock the other person's pieces off the board while keeping their own. They call the game Chapayevtsy. Explain the origin of the game.

From Jake K on Thu, May 30, 2013 at 14:36:32 from 67.177.11.154

-Paavo Nurmi

-Tom Selleck (the thick eye brows gave this one away). By answering the question correctly, I will receive 10 seasons of Magnum PI DVDs.

-Lavender Poisoning

-Two boys received a checkers set but the rulebook was written in hieroglyphics, and despite their best efforts to track down a rosetta stone, they were never able to decipher the code. So, as boys would, they simply resorted to throwing things at each other.

That's gotta be worth a 3! :-)

Hopefully there were some posters of Kim Jong Il. Did you know he shot a 38-under-par in his first round of golf, and a perfect 300 in his first bowling game? Pre cannot compare.

From Rob Murphy on Thu, May 30, 2013 at 20:36:42 from 24.10.249.165

Joe - I believe 5 holes-in -one went along with that 38 under par.

From SlowJoe on Thu, May 30, 2013 at 20:39:28 from 65.116.3.92

Rob, you severely underestimate the powers of the great leader. It was 11.

As someone that doesn't defecate, I'm glad you posted that article. Some of us are so perfect that there is no waste.

FYI, that goo.gl link does not work in China. I had to circumvent the Chinese Firewall to read about Kim Jong's amazing feats. Now I have almost certainly been tagged by the Chinese Government.

Thanks a lot.

But you're only 19. Okay 28 or 29. When I first "met" you I thought you were older. As in older than only slightly older than me. I'm looking forward to retirement and some old man PRs though.

I am curious, though, if anybody aside from Rob Murphy can answer those questions correctly - possibly with the help of a search engine. I do think that Paavo Nurmi is a creative answer, but from the historical point of view there was an individual that caused a whole lot more trouble - you'll see that when you realize who it was.

For question two, I can find no evidence that Tom Selleck ever climbed on top of a mausoleum to deliver a speech that was long and empty. Even if he has on occasion or two, there is an individual matching the description that did it much more frequently as part of his job. Hint - search for a list of people entombed in a mausoleum - this will help with question 1 as well.

For question 3, the year is very relevant. The answer will be different we we changed the year from 1938 to 1942. BTW, what will it be?

For question 4, I found the answer on the first page of the Google search for the name of the game in English.
