Bam - I'm trying to gain as much weight as possible to take full advantage of gravity at the beginning of this race.

Rachelle - Yes, you would think I should be taking that route... BUT - the direct route requires going up a very steep hill towards the end. As I explained to Andrea yesterday, its actually easier on my body to take the slightly longer route that winds through campus a bit and gradually gets me up to the top of the hill. THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT!!! :-)

You should fatten up for the first 14, then lose the weight with a strategically timed puke, and finish the last 12 light and fast. It would make for some dramatic photos, anyway.

Hey i have a question. do you have a specific diet you eat the week before a big race or do you just eat regular and drink tons of water?

Regular food and try to drink slightly more water and slightly less diet mountain dew :-) Although I believe the dew helps me in the grand scheme of things... it makes me more radical.

I believe that the body craves routine and functions best when you "live like a clock" and just do the same stuff over and over again - the things you eat before you do hard workouts are just fine for big races too. The main thing, especially when racing 5K/10K, is just making sure you don't do anything that gives you a sidestitch.

thats a good point. cause if you do anything that makes you have sideaches your race is most likely killed.
