AM - 20 miles. Jeremy Ranch Long Run. Great group this morning, probably 12-15 guys starting off together. Did the typical out and back for the first 15 miles, then Kotter and I added on 5 or so more. He wanted to do the last part on the roads around the golf course, not realizing that area is actually hillier than the dirt road (see below). I knew exactly what we were getting into and was happy to go along. Although I did slip off the sidewalk between 16-17 and took a solid tumble. Came directly down on the right knee and scraped it up a bit (and my hands!). Swollen now so today will require a lot of ice/pool time.

Felt great the whole time today. The last time I did a 20 mile run was MARCH! I'll start making these a more regular thing again next month.

Impressive week Jake!

Nothing like making the Jeremy Ranch Road that much harder.

Great run Jake. I hope the knee is ok and feels better after some good icing.

Very nice.

Although biggest climb 300 feet? By Aid station 1 at Logan Peak, we've already climbed 3000 ft...

Someday I'll convert you to a singletrack lover.

137 for the week!?...DANG! Nice work.

I like running and I think that its great for people to enjoy the type of running that they enjoy. Comparing climbing/vertical stats is like... well, if I finish that analogy I'll get kicked off here :-)

Kendall - yeah, bigger week than I've been doing... by design. Two weeks up right now, then I'll drop back down. Just a shorter high-volume cycle. Not doing the consistent big volume like last summer. Don't want to take chances with the hamstring. It felt great on the run today so that is a relief... My patella feels like its cracked, but that is Kotter's fault :-)

Big miles this week Jake. Comforting to know that even elites can take a tumble now and then like the rest of us. Hope it's nothing serious.

Very solid end to a great week. I really think the timing of TOU Marathon will be perfect for you.

Oh man, sorry about the tumble. Some day when I lose all this extra weight, I'd like to join the gang up there for a run.

Great ending to that run. "easier"...

That's way too bumpy at the end!

From Matt Poulsen on Sun, Aug 04, 2013 at 08:06:41 from 74.211.25.142

Nice run to cap off a great week! You are looking very strong right now. Take care of that knee!

good to run with everybody. Thanks for the invite. That road is brutal. Ice bath in the creek was fantastic afterwards.
