AM - 15 miles. First 10 miles on the grass at SHP, then to the track - 16 x 200m in 35.3 seconds (5K rhythm, the goal was to not break 35 on any of them. I was successful on 81% of the reps). Finished up with one more mile easy on the track.

PM - 5 miles easy w/ Andrea (on her rollerblades).

I like that session - it doesn't seem too taxing and yet, gets the legs turning over.

I also like how on your 'easy' days you're working a different energy system or giving the body something to think about as well as recovering. Smart.

you are smart to spend time on that track. great carnival training.

Hah, I like Allie's comment. Totally unrelated, but I imagine you keep up with pros more than anyone around here, so did you see this?

Ezekiel Kemboi had mentioned moving up to the marathon after London 2012, but this got no buzz at all. Also, 2:10:32 at 7000' for his debut? Also, the 13.1 winner ran sub-60 at 7000'? Both of those would be worth better than WR performances at sea level (2:02 low and :56 high). Thoughts? Short courses? How could Kemboi run a marathon and nobody talk about it at all?

Bam - I'm trying to keep mixing it up, working the different systems... working on my weaknesses. I'm incorporating some stuff from from my holy trinity of advisors - Andrea, Rob, and you. If I don't run 1:04 this year, it falls on you three :-)

Allie - I do all my track reps with a baton. Always preparing for the relays. Gotta find out the Utah co-ed DMR record.

Collin - I dont really know anything about that race. Garmin certified? :-) Kemboi is obviously the real deal, but you know what I think about altitude conversions... He's a household name so he'll get a chance to show what he can do on a real course at some point soon. One of the WMMs will sign him for a road debut.

Looks like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders with all these quality sessions this week.
