AM - 11.3 miles up to work. A little tired this morning... stayed up past my bedtime watching the World Championships.
PM - 8.7 miles home... winding through the neighborhoods. I thought this article about Ryan Hall that I read in Running Times today had some good insight. He has a  focus on "big" workouts (a theme I have discovered is popular on this blog), but knows its equally important to have the confidence to not "prove" yourself in workouts. I also liked the quote about responding to training, and not merely surviving it.

We're addicted to the world championships! We watch it on the DVR. It goes much faster when we can fast forward.

Its fun to actually have a reason to turn on the TV at night! :-) The coverage has been pretty good so far, other than cutting out the middle 20 minutes of the 10K races!

Very good article. Some things there to really think about.

I'm doing my best to popularize the "little workout" followed by pizza and beer. It's not catching on though like I would have thought.

Rob I think we should be doing THAT too! Low key weeknight track meets/workouts followed by some tailgating!

Thanks for sharing this article! Puts things in perspective when a guy like Hall is saying he needs more balance and rest!
