Ran this evening right before sunset.  It was still warm (80) and humid but for some reason it didn't feel too bad.  I felt pretty good starting out with no soreness from yesterday's race.  I just ran easy the whole way and kept it in recovery mode.  It was a really nice evening and it felt good to be outside.

It was warm (72) and  humid this morning but cloudy so that helped.  I really had a hard time getting going this morning.  Could be from running last night or racing over the weekend but I didn't feel like I could get moving.  I had some work requirements that I had to get to this morning so had to cut the run short.  I am going to try to run this afternoon to make up for it.  I did try to pick it up the last 1.5 miles just to shake out the legs.

PM: Planned on running but my daughter decided to go out for the soccer team instead of running CC so I practiced soccer with her for about an hour.  More fun than running.

It was warm (72) and very humid this morning.  I felt very sluggish this morning.  It was hard to get the legs moving and I just felt tired.  I ran for a few miles and then did some 1/4 mile pickups just to see if that helped.  It didn't seem to snap me out of it so I just ran easy for a few more miles then added some strides at the end.  I had a couple of nights without normal sleep so hopefully I can get on schedule and maybe that will help.

PM:  It was a warm (80) and humid evening.  I ran after dinner and didn't have enough time to really let my food settle so I had some stomach issues for the first couple of miles but then got better.  I took it easy until I started feeling better then gradually picked up the pace after 4 I was feeling pretty good so decided to finish fast and ran the last two at MP.  The last mile was really faster than MP but wanted to keep pushing the pace more like a progression.  Rough start but it ended up being a pretty good run.

It was warm (71) but very humid (89%) this morning.  I am going hiking in the Smoky Mountains this weekend so I wanted to get my long run in today instead of Sat.  I felt pretty good starting off after the double yesterday.  I still started off very slow and just eased into the run.  I wanted to run the first half easy and then run the second half just a little bit faster.  I went out and back along 300 S.  I went out in 62:26 (8:17) and came back in 59:33 (7:57).  I was surprised how good I felt the last few miles and felt like I could have kept going.

Thunderstroms rolling through this morning so had to retreat to the TM.  It was too bad because I just planned an easy run this morning anyway.  I felt pretty good after the longer run yesterday.  Only issue was a little bit of pain/tightness in right hamstring.  Will need to keep an eye on this to try to keep it from getting worse.

PM:  I was able to squeeze in a quick run before dark.  It was 78 but the humidity felt lower.  I felt pretty good so planned to do a progression run.  Did the first mile as a warmup and then tired to pick it up each mile.  Here were my splits: 7:53, 7:31, 7:00, 6:49, 6:23.  Pushed the last mile pretty hard but felt good.

I was planning p leaving early for a hiking trip to the Smokey Mountains so didn't have much time to run so only got in 3 miles. I will hiking the next 3 days and probably won't get any running in but will be doing a lot of uphill hiking which will be good.

PM:  Soon as we got to the Smokies went hiking and got in a about 5 miles on a nice waterfall trail with about 1000 ft of elevation gain.  Going to Mount LeConte tomorrow.  Around 9 miles.

Smoky Mountains:  Hiked Mount LeConte today.  It was very cloudy so not too many good views but was a lot of fun and nice hike.  Did around 10 miles with about 3000ft of elevation gain.
