Today I did the bike ride across Indiana.  It was a 170 mile ride on a very hot and humid day.  It started at 7:00 am and was already feeling pretty warm.  I tried to take it easy through the first half and got into a couple of groups that helped.  The wind was coming out of the SE which is backwards of normal and meant that we had kind of a side/head wind the whole way which made it much hotter.  Around lunch time the sun came out strong and it got really hot.  I was still doing pretty good here but was starting to feel it.  After around 90 miles I hooked up with a couple of other riders about my capability and we worked together most of the rest of the way.  One of the things that is an issue is that when you exercise that long you have to eat to keep your energy up and at the last stop I must have had something that totally disagreed with me because about 15 miles from the finish I got really sick to my stomach.  Combining that with just be tired I struggled the rest of the way in.  I was glad to see the finish line and after getting some solid food/liquids in me I started feeling better.  I am glad that I did it but not sure I will do it again.  It ended up being just over 10 hours of riding time and my back/bottom were really feeling it.  My legs were in pretty good shape which was encouraging.  Also, I waited until about 3 weeks ago to really start getting ready for this and I just didn't have enough time on the bike.
