This morning I went and worked a 5k that our church does to raise money for our inner city kids program.  I didn't get back to the house until around 11 so had some lunch and decided to run later in the day since my wife and daughters are helping with a Fall Festival at the church.

It warmed up a little this afternoon but only about 50 and it was very windy with gusts up to 25 mph.  Starting off I felt real good and had to hold back from going out too fast.  Settled into a nice pace and tired to keep it steady most of the way.  The wind was really tough.  It felt like it was beating on me all the time.  Just didn't feel like I ever got a break from it.  Not sure if it was the wind or the accumulation of miles this week but I could really feel it in the legs starting around 16 miles.  I didn't slow down any after this.  I actually picked up the pace some but legs just felt really beat.  I was glad to get this one in and felt good about the pace.

Great finish to both a strong week and month...you've even topped the mileage board on a Saturday!

Thanks Dave! After looking more closely I think it is my highest monthly mileage and probably my highest weekly on 6 days of running.

I don't think I told you but I registered for Boston last week. I got the airline tickets and hotel so I am committed. I thought that you said you were going to run again next year. Is that right? If so, it would great to get together.

Awesome 22 miler! I haven't done one of those yet. Great pace to hold up in the wind for that long.

Jim,

Alright...I've being going back and forth on Boston, but you've inspired me to sign up this week. Yes...let's definitely make a point of meeting up that weekend.

Thanks Mark! I am really trying to improve my endurance. I always seem drop off in the marathon.

Dave, that is great that you are going to run Boston. I am really exicted about running and we will definitely have to setup a time/place to meet up while we are there. Maybe we can meet up for dinner or something. I am going to be bringing my wife with me but the kids are not coming which they are not happy about. They would love a reason to come to Boston and be able to miss a few days of school.

Sounds good...look forward to arranging something as we getting closer to Spring.
