Day 3 -

AM - 4 easy hilly hood miles @ 8:50 AP

Weight 146 - Considering I basically took the last 8 months off from running & at my peak my race weight was 148, this is good ... although it means I need to add muscle and hopefully target my race weight down to 145 or lower.  Let the Games begin.

Ha ha...I'm still trying to gain weight.

I guess I'm going to settle for a 16 week training program as I haven't even looked at any options yet.

Glad to see that you are training again;)

IJR - No science here but if you take 30,000 steps to run a marathon & you weigh 10 pounds less, that is 300,000 pounds of less impact your your body will endure, perhaps enough to help one run the last 6 miles strong! :)

Thx Fritz - slowly but surely build it back up ... at least that is the plan!

I agree it is a lot (not all) about weight; i was running STG-marathon with 163 pounds; according to the calculations with 145 i could have BQ'ed (maybe ;)) easily. Long distance running is a lot about low weight:

Less carbloading, less calorie consumption, less pounding, less sweating, less work, less heat.

Are you doing any ATL races before Boston; hope to see you around?

Wanted to say we are doing long runs on the silver comet with the ATL running meet up (www.meetup.com) every other week (disclaimer: i think silver comet will close down at some point for repair work); we have good runners in this sunday running group the most talented runner runs 10 miles in about 60 min; he is 53 years old!
