You had some solid races - you still preparing? Any news from the doc?

Are you still doing the Gator Wilderness race this weekend? I'll be there with the whole crew.

Tom, in all likelihood, no.
Things move fast in my world & I have to stay on my toes! My intent was to be here through the LKSP 5k on May 11, despite my lease ending April 30.
I learned last week that my Dad's CLL has returned aggressively after 28 years of successfully managing it. He is 85 & played golf nearly every week this past summer! He started an oral chemo pill on Tuesday. To complicate matters he is in process of preparing house to sell & moving into an apartment on June 1.
Additionally, the swollen lymph nodes in my neck have become increasingly visibly apparent, so I need to select new Oncologist prior to my planned departure for Colorado altitude running by mid-May.
I have a busy week of preparation & hope to leave for PA Saturday with a stopover in Atlanta. I will be in the Northeast 2 weeks, to include a road trip to Vermont with my Dad & son.
I know all that was a mouthful... but since I am not really posting daily stuff here, I wanted to give an update on my journey & ask for your prayers. I ran 33 miles in sand over 3 days of Easter celebration, so my body aches but that is normal, so I am in good health ... but the battle is beginning. If next winter brings me back to the Gulf Coast to prepare for Boston 2020, we will definitely have to connect for a run. My goal remains to BQ on June 29 @ Revel Mt Hood. That is the earliest I could have myself ready ... and in all likelihood I will have to begin treatments before the Fall marathons.
Hey Dan & Preston, that update is for you guys as well, as I know you hold me in your prayers!
Happy Trails!

Thanks for the update JG - Lots on the plate and that is a lot of miles over Easter! Thoughts and prayers my friend. Hope to see you in Boston again or anywhere else for that matter!

Somewhere in there, over the next 60 or so days, you have to train for a very downhill marathon, on the other side of the country?
That is a lot of stuff to juggle! It would have been good to meet while you were down here. I'm kind of bummed that it will not work out.
Safe travels, and best wishes for your family. I'm really rooting for you to get the BQ!
Thanks again for introducing me to LKSP.

Sorry for lack of updates! Training for a marathon quickly transitioned to altitude hiking with views. I began 4 weekly treatments of Rituximab, an antibody, to combat swollen lymph nodes and a mass the size of a racquetball in my colon. Hope to be running again soon... follow consult to review fresh set of scans on August 20 ... to assess next step.

JG,
I believe you are finished with your final infusion now and am praying for GREAT results...!!!

Yes Preston, a couple weeks ago. Swelling has gone down & stomach pains gone, so that is good. I go for scans & consult on Sept. 23rd, as the doctor wanted the antibody to continue to work for a month before ordering scans. Thanks for asking.
