PVHS Outstanding Athlete of the Year 2013 Short-Term Running Goals: Get back into shape
Have good indoor/outdoor seasons
Never run the 2 mile ever again. Long-Term Running Goals: Run forever. Personal: My mother forced me to start running as a freshman in high school.. and as much as I hate to admit it, I actually ended up liking it. Graduated from Pine View High School in 2013 and, after a yearlong hiatus, I am now running again, this time for USU, where I'm working on a composite Elementary Ed/Deaf Ed major. |

| | am: three. Pretty quiet. 4x1000 at 3:46, 2x300 all out. Felt pukey all throughout the workout.. I think because I didn't get a chance to eat lunch til half an hour before the workout. Early days throw my whole routine off. My splits were around 3:45, 3:49, 3:49, 3:42. I'm not totally sure, because my watch was off.. it would start and be on the right time, but by the end of the 1000, it would be 2 seconds off of everyone elses. So I guess it was an okay workout.. it felt awful, but looking at those times, it wasn't that bad. The 300s were bad. I didn't have my watch, but I could feel the suckiness. I was so so tired after. I just wanted to sleep. My thoughts and prayers go out to those in Boston today. What an awful thing. | | Add Comment |
| | Am: I really really really didn't want to come this morning.. I couldn't sleep all night cause I was coughing so hard. But I did. How dumb of me. Pm: Coe #1.. whatever. Basically, we ran 100, 110, 120, etc until we got to 200. And there was some formula for figuring out the times.. mine started at 21 seconds for the 100, then 22, 23, 24 etc until the 200 which was 32. It was a good workout.. really fast. It was over pretty quick. Some of my times were a second fast, some were right on, one of them was a second slow. My cough won't go awayyyyy. | | Add Comment |
| | Am: I swear, every morning I wake up and decide I'm not coming to practice because I'm so tired, then somehow I end up at the school 20 minutes later. It's quite annoying, really. Pm: Panther relays. Quite awful, really. I mean, it was kind of a little bit fun, but I just did rather horribly. First I ran the 1200 in the distance medley (no school record for us.. not even close). Then I anchored in the 4x800. I would like to exempt myself from blame in the donut situation here. Liz had 150 meters on me before I even got the baton. Then the 4x4. That one was okay.. I was just very tired and coughy. So.. not a great running day. On the bright side, the weather was ni.. oh wait. | | Add Comment |
| | Am: showed up late, so I ran the way out with Michael and Krenshaw. Chilly this morning. Pm: today was weird, and I got out to practice and I just really didn't want to run. Which is weird, because usually I look forward to practice. But for real. I just didn't want to do anything. But then we got going and there were 10 (TEN) of us, which has got to be a new record, and it was so so fun. We had story time and ran through sprinklers and planned out how we're going to come to Rylee's graduation in six years. Then we ice bathed after. Also, we had 200s. It was a lovely run. | | Add Comment |

Dixie Invite (0.25 Miles) 00:01:04 | | Am: I would like to let it be known that I finally FINALLY made it to morning practice every day for a week for the first time this season! Now I'll be taking the next week off to recover from this exertion. Pm: race. Just had the 400 today. It is driving me crazy that I can't break 1:04! No matter how I run it, I always get the same time! I really enjoy the 400 though. Tomorrow is the 800 and the 4x4. I'm getting nervous for the 800. I really really want to run it as well as I did last week. I'm scared.. but excited too. I know I can do it. I just have to remember that during the race.. | | Add Comment |

Dixie Invite (0.5 Miles) 00:02:24, Place overall: 3 | | Well. I was extremely nervous for this race.. more so than I have been in a while. I was afraid everyone was expecting me to run the way I did at DH last week and I was afraid I couldn't do it. Also, they were doing an alley start, which only added to my anxieties. I HATE alley starts. Janz was in my heat for this race, but she was in the alley before mine cause Coach put her time in as 2:30. When we started and cut in at the 100, I was pretty far back in the pack. The first 150 or so after cutting in, I just focused on catching up to Janz. I passed her somewhere on the home stretch of the first lap. We came across the line at a 1:11 (ish). Then I knew I could run as well as I did last week, but I had to pick it up. I started passing girls, and ended up getting all of them but two Ogden girls (and I don't think Sarah Feeny really counts). The last 100, I was dead. I was trying hard to kick, but I was way tired and my muscles were all tight. After the race, all I wanted was to have qualified. Turns out I missed it by .73 of a second. That was pretty disappointing, but I know now that I can do it. Later I ran the 2nd leg of the 4x4. We were hoping to qualify.. we were 3 seconds off. I don't know my split, but it didn't feel as fast as I wanted it to be. | | Add Comment |
