5.78

5.78 in 47:11.  Avg pace 8:10.  By far the fastest run I've had in quite some time.  Ran with Mark.  It was windy, rainy, and snowy.  Very cold by the end.  Ran a big loop towards State St. and then hit 1100 West and back home.  About the 5 mile mark I told Mark I was slowing down and to go ahead.  We were clipping along around 7:10-7:30 for a bit.  I could have held it, but I get nervous too right now.  Minor pain throughout in knee.  It's still manageable.  My left quad is tight/sore.

Good for you to get a well deserved decent run in. You are making progress, this is good. Hopefully no more 2 hours in the pool for a little while...

Thanks Bec. No more 2 hours in the pool...hopefully. I just got to try and catch up to your fitness level now.

Jeff are you rolling your quad with a softball? It kills but my quad has healed so much faster. Lay on your belly put the ball on your quad hold it in the sore area and let it dig in. Then roll it all the way up to the front of your hip.

Thanks for the tip Melanie. I've been using a tennis ball recently, but I'm kind of a wimp when it starts to hurt.
