7.50 in 59:35. Ran first 4 with Mark and then I added on by going down by the new jr. high. Felt better after about 4 miles and everything was in the low 7:40s after the first 2 miles. Pretty sore from the run on Saturday.
PM 4.0 on the TM. Easy.

No, I'm trying to get ready for DesNews Marathon. I would love your advice on how to best run that course. I would like to come in around the 3 hr mark. Do I just try to run even splits? Be aggressive on the downhill and try to survive the last 8-10? I would love your opinion since I know you have lots of experience with that course.

cool. good choice! i love that marathon. however, race plans usually go out the window on that course. you just never know what will happen. the body can react very negatively to the downhill and it can affect you in the later stages of the race. your quads are guaranteed to be trashed, so just plan on that. the downhill at the start is deceiving. restrain from going out too fast. the race goes out at a blistering pace because it is so downhill. don't get caught up in the hype, but at the same time, don't be so conservative that you lose time and can't make up the ground later on. it is a very delicate balance and the pacing is tricky (and i have no idea what the answer is). just get some good downhill training in to get your body used to the pounding. and good luck! maybe i will see you there...
