Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I took Moxie out for an easy 5 mile run on a cool morning.  Afterward, I took Justin and Katelyn to Freeman Park so Justin could practice with the XC team and I ran some loops with Katelyn.  After running with Katelyn, I ran a couple of harder miles with Justin to practice finishing strong, holding his position and kicking to the finish.  Overall 11 miles this morning and feeling good!  (Boost)

4.5 miles in 35:45 around the greenbelt on a gorgeous day at lunch.  Tightness still there but not bothersome.  (Mirage Red)

Kid's first day of high school and middle school...when did they get so big?!?!

4:30am...5 easy untimed miles with Moxie along Sunnyside.  Right leg is feeling better this morning after icing it last night.  Saw Curt and Gama out running, guess I am the late riser now.  (Ride 3)

6.1 miles around the river on a very windy day in about 48 minutes.  Ran with DanS to catch up on things, nice to have the company of a good friend.  Shin is still tender but doing better (feels better when I run).  (Mirage Red)

Beautiful day for a run at lunchtime today!  1 mile easy wu, then into a 5K MP effort (6:08, 6:02, 6:04, 0:31) in 18:45 (6:03 AP) just to test out my legs.  Effort level was good with only a slight left calf tightness.  2.1 miles easy back to the start for 6.2 miles in 40:50 (6:35 AP).  (Mirage Red)

6am...slept in a little and went out with Craig after dropping Katelyn off at XC practice.  Had a great cruise paced run with Craig through SRL and around the greenbelt and Freeman Park having a good time chatting and enjoying the company.  13 miles in 1:35ish starting slower and getting faster at the end.  Thanks, Craig!

After dropping the kids off and school, Kami and ran 3 miles at Community Park in 26:20.  She did great and still has more in the tank if she can really start enjoying running.  Now for a day off from work with some chores and church meetings on tap.  (Fastwitch Red)

4:15am...5 easy miles with Moxie in about 37 minutes along Sunnyside.   Early morning to get kids ready to go to the Cardinal Classic race in Soda Springs today.  (ride 3)

The kids did great at the race and it was fun watching them compete against so many good runners!

We drove to Sandy and met up with the Murphy's and caught up while the kids played in the pool.  A quick diner at In-N-Out and then to the Real Salt Lake game at Rio Tinto Stadium...they won 2-1 in a great game!  A fun family day!
