Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6:30am...7 miles with Moxie on a warm and windy morning before church.  Leading a class then to our old church for the retirement party for the senior Pastor that I have known, worked with and called my friend and mentor for over 15 years. (Ride Orange)

4:30am...5 miles with Moxie, really tired. (Ride Orange)

Felt like crap all day today, no energy.  Could not fall asleep when I got home so I went for a short slow run of 3 miles.  Developing a cough too...when the weather is getting nice. (Guide 7)

Weights with Justin at the gym.  Going through the routine his new coach gave him to prep for faster spring running.

4:30am...4 miles with Moxie, had to cut it short due to intestinal distress. Did rehab exercises, pushups and situps. (Supernova)

6 miles on a nice day at lunch.  I pushed the pace today because my legs (and energy) felt the best they have in a long time!  Felt like things were working well (power, turnover, muscle engagement), actually reminded me of what good race pace felt like (not that fast today, but fastest in a while)!  (Guide 8)

3 miles after school with Justin.  He ran a 56 and change for his 400m time trial...off injury recovery and no real training since August!  Looking great to start into his prep for Westminster XC in the fall.

4:15am...6 miles with Moxie on a warmish morning. (Mirage Red)

6 miles at lunch on a beautiful day (sunny, warmer) so I was overdressed.  Plus I was running at a faster clip (MP) than usual.  Had a couple of rabbits...two guys in the locker room were posturing a bit.  Took off before me, ran the short side of the park. Saw them first at about 1.25 miles and they were 0.5 miles ahead, caught them just past 2.5 miles in, and ended up in the locker room just after they finished a 4.3 mile run.  Felt good to get the legs pumping again. (Guide 8)

3 miles with Justin just chatting and goofing off the whole way, great time. (Ride Orange)

Went to see "The Greatest Showman" tonight, great movie, message and soundtrack.
