Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

4.25M at lunch at a slow MP (~6:20ish)...no watch just by feel.  Nice and easy and felt really good, hammy good as well.  Ran a little harder to beat the rain even with a bit of intestinal distress.  Good run!  (T2)

Boy Jeff, you make running sound like so much fun:) I felt much the same this morning but I HAD to get up to teach. Some days I wonder why I do it and then I remember how much I like to eat. Oh, and I do actually like running.

I do like running, today was just hard to get up for some reason...one of those days! Plus, 4am is dang early!

From sam on Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 13:50:11 from 90.208.239.179

yes its why do we work and not why do we run, today I am asking why do I do anything, just one of those days.

Jeff....I'll tell you why. 2:32 marathon, ran with Josh Cox, don't have to worry about getting fat, at age 40 can SMOKE runners 20 years younger!!! And yet we can still work full-time in good careers and have great families. We do it because we CAN!!!

4 a.m. you are the man!

From Jon on Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 14:12:10 from 138.64.2.76

Jeff, I couldn't have said it better myself. Funny, funny.

Morning runs are tough, even "easy" runs. I hit about .5 miles this morning and thought, "I'm planning to do HOW many miles? No way do I actually have the energy to run all 7!"

From Jon on Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 14:13:20 from 138.64.2.76

By the way- who are the guys in the picture? I recognize you and Josh Cox.

From jtshad on Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 15:03:45 from 204.134.132.225

Thanks everyone...just a little early morning humor and grogginess and sleep depravation! ;-)

Comrade of the way too early club (Jon, Bill, Kory, Clyde, Dustin, BBK runner, etc...in fact most of the FRB!)...early morning runs rule?!?!?

The folks in the picture, from left to right: Peter Reid, me, Adam Goucher, Josh Cox!

From Bonnie on Wed, Apr 29, 2009 at 15:06:46 from 128.196.228.134

wow, that picture rocks Jeff!

I recognized Josh and Adam next to you, but didn't recognize Peter Reid - prolly 'cuz I don't follow triathlons. Still very cool pic!
