Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

It was really crappy outside all day today, so I slept in, went to work for half a day then came home.  After playing some Wii with the kids, I went to the gym to hit the TM while they went for a haircut.

1M warmup in 6:40ish then a 7M tempo run progressing up to low 5:00 and high 4:00's for some of it to finish 8M (including w/u mile) in 47:35 (5:57 pace).  Then I got a drink and did 2 more miles easier to finish 10M in 1:00:35.

The guy on the TM next to me kept looking at my pace as I sped up and then looking at me, talking to his buddy next to him then he got off shaking his head after I had finished 3M...he, he, he...come on back for the rest of the run!  Off course, afterwards I could feel the workout and really needed fuel and water!

Picked up my son from the stylist then we played more Links Defender on the Wiii...we kicked some butt!

Good workout Jeff, I love doing that when some young punk at school decides to try and out run me on the treadmill. LOL!

So true Jeff. It's fun watching the reaction you get cranking along at 10 to 11 mph. My gym has the treadmills so close together that I have to be careful about my sweat flying all over the person next to me!

Hi J~

That guy is JEALOUS! So there..haha. What kind of treadmill goes that fast. There were some cool treadmills that went to a 4min pace at Lifetime Fitness when I lived in AZ. Nice GYM I miss! Anyhow...here at my Ghetto Gym, GOLDS, the mills go to 6pace some go to 5, which comes in handy from time to time.

I get really irritated when I am trying to focus on a speedy impromptu run on the Mill and girls will turn and stare..I must be loud, idk..haha.

Or in the weights room. I think I should join the Circus..:P

That is some crazy sick speed you have in your legs..Awesomeness!
