"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

| | No run today. Busy day at work. Experiencing the fatigued feeling in my head that I seem to get a couple of days after a 5 hour run. Maybe what I need is a brain transplant. Otherwise I feel great!

7 miles / 9:50 avg. on the hill infested fire break road before work this morning. Post rain, 60 degrees. So for the last two years I've been slowly, carefully, working my legs and feet into more and more minimalist running shoes. I feel the the shoe I ran in this morning is my reward for this effort. The New Balance MT101 is a trail shoe I've been anticipating for months; it was finally released Oct. 1st and I got a pair in the mail yesterday. All I can say is: YES! WT 60.4 miles
