"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

10 miles / Trail run - on the BST (or BoSho, as Dorsimus calls it) running north from Kaysville. To get 5 miles out, I had to run a quarter mile up the steep section on the Great Western Trail. Just as I was turning around to head back, I ran into another runner heading down the mountain (he had been up to the snowline), a strong 58 year old ultra runner. I got to run with him for a mile and a half to Fernwood where he was parked, then I had 3 1/2 miles to go. Achilles held up really well. My legs overall started feeling generally fatigued, no doubt due to the fact that I'm down to about half my usual mileage for the month. All in all a great day to be running in the hills.
