"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

| | 10.1 miles - commute run home. short day at work and i started my run around 1:00 pm. ran the first four miles around a 9:24 avg, then ran mile 5 a little quicker to warm up, then ran a 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 minutes @<5k pace with a minute easy, which left me with a couple of easy miles to finish. nice small workout. 8:45 avg. for the run. splits: 9:19, 9:24, 9:19, 9:32, 8:18, 8:04, 7:27, 7:54, 9:05, 9:09. 17.3 miles - commute to work. really, really nice weather. i started off at a very easy pace and progressed throughout the run. my avg. pace for the first 5 miles was 9:13, at 10 miles it was 8:58, at 15 miles it was 8:50 and my average for 17.3 miles was 8:48. so, though not particularly fast it felt good to get stronger as the run progressed. WT 69 miles seventy-six
