"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Top excuses why I'm not running today:

1) It's a brilliantly sunny day, and who wants to run under those conditions.

2) Pretty busy day at work, can't get away because...

3) It's my 14th wedding anniversary so my wife and I are going to have a nice lunch together.

4) My back's been a little tweaked the last couple of days, so a little break might be good.

So there you have it. No run. I've taken a lot of days off this year. But I've been conscious of that and have tried to run bigger days when I do run. Because of this I'm way ahead of my mileage for the same time last year. Still, I'll be trying to work in more consistency as the year continues.

Wow. Well You have very good reasons not excuses as to why you are not running. Especially #1.

Happy Anniversary to you and to Mrs. JD!! Can't believe its been 14 years.

Your mileage has kicked arse this year and I don't remember many days that you have taken off. Good Job! And Congrats on 14 years of marital bliss!
