"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Sometimes that happens :)

You have quite a few miles this week anyway, and I'm sure you will make up for this tomorrow. :)

That is not a bad thing!

Your picture makes me COLD!!!!!!

So, what are your race plans for next year? Just curious.

You forgot? Really?

From JD on Thu, Nov 11, 2010 at 12:12:35 from 70.96.78.157

Thanks Lori and Allie! Allie, I always wondered why you performed so well at races...you were faking it!

Kelli - It WAS cold! My plans are the Buffalo Run (50 mi./Antelope Island) in March, Ogden full in May, and hopefully a 100 in the Fall. Or I may just wake up one day and decide to pursue my dream of becoming a cowboy.

Carolyn - Lol! Kind of though. I had been really busy all day and around 2:30 I realized that I had not run yet. I decided to just not worry about it. November is my "No Pressure" month as far as running goes.

Hey, saddle up that horse!!!

You are brave, I need to run a few more 50k's before I dare to do a 50 miler. The Antelope Island one seems like a great one but I am terrified of being chased by Buffalo---that is for cowboys only! My husband is trying to talk me into the Squaw Peak 50. He is going to do it, but I would rather just run half of it with him. I am a CHICKEN.

From JD on Thu, Nov 11, 2010 at 15:15:33 from 70.96.78.157

I'm only in it to finish, not to compete. I've been relieved from that kind of pressure by my genes! Hopefully I can get 2 or 3 ultra-long training runs in this winter. I'll crawl to the finish if I have to. Should be fun.

From Kelli on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 13:56:13 from 71.219.65.246

50 miles is long whether you are competing or not! Finishing it IS WHAT scares me!! you are just tougher. ;o)
