"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Awesome 8.5! Yes it is hot out today. I woke up sweating, guess its time to keep the swamp cooler on all night.

Very warm indeed you may even say hot. Good 8.5!

Lysa - you woke up sweating because you're hot.

Thayne - NO! NOT HOT! i was trying to convince myself throughout the run that it was merely warm, and not actually hot. you're shattering my denial! :-)

I noticed the heat when I was taking my kids to school at 7:15. Crazy for early summer. That us August weather. Why can't Utah get the weather right?

no kidding Kelli! and this morning it was 45F - schizophrenic utah weather! conditions look pretty good for saturday though, especially up in the canyon - i bet it will only be 50+ degrees by the time you finish!

This weather has been nuts. Today is beautiful, though. I need to get my butt out and run, but I am too full right now! I need to stop eating.

Saturday is looking good. Now if I can get my mind and legs to cooperate....
