"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Drove to LPT and ran. Flat course. Sunny, low 40's.

Todays run wasn't effortless like yesterday, but I was still able to run faster. This is a significant breakthrough for me this week.

Effortless is good.

Congrats on your progess!

Just don't be afraid to mix some real easy running in at your "old" paces. The variation is essential for continued improvement.

Adam - effortless is good, I wish I knew the secret to making every run feel like that.

Phoenix - thanks for the tip. I was thinking these last two runs will count as workouts, sort of, for the week. I'm cutting back this week as it is, so today and tommorrow, easy short runs, then a medium, slow run on Sunday.

Psychologically it's just a boost/relief to finally see my pace come down a bit. Slow and steady, injury free progress is what I'm shooting for.

Glad to hear you are pleased with your progress.

Snoqualmie - I'm glad to see you back on the blog. I hope you're recovering well from your awesome marathon performance!
