"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

NICE PACE!!! Is it just me, or are you running much faster than you used to??

I just noticed your marathon goal for 2010---3:37:12?

From JD on Wed, Dec 02, 2009 at 20:50:46 from 209.183.51.64

Thanks for noticing Kelli. Yeah, ever since TOU my pace has been much better. I decided to try and run a little faster in general since I've cut back on my mileage, which has been 40-45 MPW. You may have been right when you suggested (months ago), that I should try cutting back and see how I felt. I feel a lot better now. However, I haven't run more than 12 miles since the marathon. I'm going to have to start some long runs soon!

Every once in a while I am right! ;o)

In the winter, I just try to do one run a week that is 10-15 miles. So, I think 12 miles is a long run, but I am kind of messed up.

You both are awesome in my book. And ya, I remember JD complaining about his 8:30's and now here he is doing 7:30's. Good job to both of you for being an inspiration for headcases like me. And JD, im glad you got the stress release today. That always feels soo good.

Your splits look like a mathematical formula - faster, faster, faster. Don't you people have any hills out there? (I'm just jealous.)
