"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

nice job getting a run in already! I have to wait until noon, sometimes that is torture. Beautiful day finally!

40 degrees isn't too bad of a temperature for running. How did it feel to you?

From JD on Mon, May 03, 2010 at 14:08:23 from 70.96.78.157

Thanks Lysa. I really, really enjoy morning runs, but have a weakness when it comes to getting up and doing them.

Carolyn - 40 degrees is pretty much ideal running temp as long as there's no moisture or wind.

From Kelli on Mon, May 03, 2010 at 17:35:24 from 71.219.75.178

I agree, perfect without the wind. The problem is that the wind never stops lately.

Nice 10 miler for a Monday. perfect distance, great pace!

Have a good week.

OH, and we are no longer coming to Ogden, darn it. My husband has re-injured his calf and will not be pacing his friend. Bummer, i was looking forward to cheering you on. Now I just get to cheer on my kids at soccer.

From JD on Mon, May 03, 2010 at 18:51:18 from 70.96.78.157

Thanks Kelli. Yeah, the weather this Spring has been not so great.

That's too bad about Scott's injury. Dang, I was hoping to have you screaming at me the last 2 miles as I crawled to the finish! I'm just going to have to come out to one of your races. When is the Herriman 5K?

From Kelli on Mon, May 03, 2010 at 20:03:20 from 71.219.75.178

I was sad, too! Oh well, another time.

The Herriman 5k/10k is June 26th. Ya gonna come and run it?

From JD on Tue, May 04, 2010 at 18:52:00 from 70.96.78.157

Kelli - all signs point to...maybe.

I couldn't find any info for it on the web.

Come join in the fun---free breakfast after, a nice little hometwon parade (you can get a bunch of candy for the dogs), and you can race me. Nothing beats that!!!

From JD on Tue, May 04, 2010 at 19:29:55 from 70.96.78.157

Thanks Kelli. Sounds like fun. Except for the racing you part! :-)
