"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Ran from home to the parkway trail, turned around at 6 miles and came back meandering through the hood to make 13 miles. Good run. It took like six miles before I felt loose though. So I ran a negative split. Met a runner who caught me on the way back and she slowed to run with me for a half mile or so. She was running 18 miles today and is running New York marathon in November. I told her about the blog, hope she checks it out.

Lots of people on the new parkway trail today. Probably about half bikers, half runners, and a smattering of walkers with dogs etc. Not bad for a Sunday.

I'm hoping my body will allow an increase in my weekly milege. Hopefully I can get 50 in for this week. The non blog week ending with today run gives me over 46 miles. Feeling good.

I hope you get your mileage goal this week. You seem to have a nice trail to run on. Thanks for being so encouraging to me.

Nice run, James. That's a half marathon.

A belated thanks to you for the comments.

Snoqualmie, thanks for the inspiration, and the awesome blogs.

Chad, I know, I was going to go 12 mi. but felt good so added. The idea that I just ran a half marathon was a boost to my psyche!
