"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

sounds painful. Good job surviving it though!

The worst thing about running in wetness is when you run through a puddle and one of your shoes gets soaked but the other is still pretty dry.

Some good running this week. Glad you're almost recovered from your 50 miler!

can't look away from train wrecks!

I hope I make it to the finish line of the half before you get there so I can cheer! I have to meet Scott half way in the marathon to trade out his fuel belt, then I will cruise to the finish line. We will see how fast I can drive and find parking!

This weather is ridiculous. I am so sick of the treadmill, I am losing it.

NOW, I am not sure how long that "beat George Bush" goal has been on your blog, but it made me smile. You can do it!!! How old was he in 1993?

From JD on Sat, Apr 09, 2011 at 17:08:50 from 71.213.32.103

I agree this weather is bordering on the ridiculous. Silly April! Scott's going to absolutely kill the marathon isn't he!

I think george W. was the same age when he ran that marathon as I am - 47 yrs. old. He's going down! Lol!

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 09, 2011 at 17:12:16 from 71.219.97.85

YOU GOT IT!!! Which marathon is it going to be? Take him down.

I think Scott will do really well. You just never know what his body is going to do, it is very unreliable! He is more than ready, though. As long as he does not beat my PR, all will remain harmonious.

From JD on Sat, Apr 09, 2011 at 17:16:14 from 71.213.32.103

Lol! That would be pretty cool if he ran under 3:07!

I'm running Ogden marathon in May.

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 09, 2011 at 21:13:03 from 71.219.97.85

It would be cool, I would be very happy for him. And then I would have to make sure to beat that in October. ;o)
