Climbed back up Rex Ave through some fallen trees. It's 300 feet of gain over a kilometer. My beard got longer by the time I got to the top.

As I recall in the early days cars were forbidden (carriages only). It's a nicely packed and shaded (very wide) trail along the river. Horses still travel those parts judging by the fecal accumulation.
Does sound a bit ominous though, doesn't it?
Another ~5 miles out and I would have been at the Art Museum.
