AM: Brandon asked me if I wanted to do a workout in the morning last night. Sure! I've never done a workout with someone, but today I learned the benefits. We had settled on a 4-mile LT tempo. I sketched out a serviceable 2 mile loop (pretty good as it turned out). We went to Cumberland Park, and I started warming up. We did 2.5 warmup w/ a bunch of strides (my legs have been heavy). We alternating taking the lead for a mile, which was helpful and fun. 4 miles in 24:08 (6:02 average): 6:13, 6:08, 5:54, 5:55

2.15 cool down. Pretty pleased with my fitness, especially off of 65-75 miles and being fat :)

Workouts with friends can help tremendously. Hopefully that can become a regular thing. Nice tempo today!

Thanks! The weather was perfect, but I know I couldn't have run that pace alone. We ran 3 times this week, and I think we will continue at least on Sundays.

Awesome workout Jason! Good to see you've got someone to do those workouts with. Hopefully you can keep that up.

Excellent work, that is a fast tempo. Enjoy Maine, sounds great right about now!

Thanks, Joe. The hot weather looks like it's gone. Might actually get something longer than 13 miles.

This was a true tempo, which I've only ever half done. This was under LT, but still good according to MacMillian. I'm going to continue with different LT intervals by time and distance but also some longer repeats, like 2 x 3 miles (not for a few weeks). No marathon until April, so I'm working on my ability to run 5:43-6:00 as much and as "comfortably" as possible.
