AM - 14 Navajo. Went from Navajo down to Duck Creek and beyond and then back. It was basically all up hill into a hideous wind (that had blown the whole day yesterday and all night). Made it super tough and I was way slow. Of course the 9500 ft. made it tougher too! (Kinvara Green 84.25) afternoon - 6 Navajo. I headed off the mountain today since Ally is taking off tomorrow. On the way back, I pulled off at some random dirt road and went out on it. It was way to close to lunch and my stomach was jacked. My legs were dead. And I was chaffing like a beast. So about a mile into it, I went Trevor-style(for just over 4 miles) and things got much better. It was pretty crazy and something I never thought I would do. Startled a huge buck about 5 feet off the trail resting under a tree - scared me to death. It was one of about 20 deer I saw the past 3 runs. (VertK 327.25) |
