10 min on bike for warm-up

3 miles on treadmill. First time running since I hurt my hamstring. Ran at 6% incline because PT said this would cause less strain on my hamstring. Ran at 6 mph, which according to their chart is like 8:00 pace with no incline. Felt alright, not great. We'll see how it feels tomorrow.

1 mile cooling down on the elliptical.

Good luck with the hamstring! Lots of people with injury experience on the blog, I've read that stim machines can often help with hamstring injuries.

Uphill usually is better because you don't extend your leg as much. I wouldn't rush it too much if you still feel a twinge. Eccentric hamstring curls seemed to work well for me and I am sure your PT prescribed a few others.

So who won the alumni tourney?

Not sure who won the alumni tourney, since I didn't play the last week because of the hamstring. Pace and I played with '97 since our year didn't have enough guys. We went 3-1 though.

As you probably well know, I am trying not to rush back from the injury but it is hard to be patient. How are you coming along with the injury?

From Fritz on Sun, Jun 02, 2013 at 12:43:36 from 65.100.192.74

Things are coming along very slowly, unfortunately. It has been 2 months since I last ran and I really can't even bike for more than 30 minutes without flaring up my IT band. I have had three cortisone shots which didn't do anything and just had an MRI to rule out any tears in my meniscus. The MRI didn't show any tears which is good and it also showed fluid under my IT band which is just a symptom of ITBS. If you know of any miracle treatments let me know.

Your hammy should be fine with proper rest and PT. The PT is crucial to prevent it from coming back again.

Sorry to hear things are coming along slowly. I wish I had a magic cure for you. I could probably take away the pain by making your leg numb, but you may not be able to use run very well.
