Adventure with brother Oreo down in Moab.  We wanted to get some time under the belt on a series of ups/downs/trails and also just some good times to get out of the hometown.

Started at Pritchett canyon trailhead to Pritchett arch to Hunter Rim Trail to Kane County Road.  This loop was awesome because we were totally alone for these miles and it was cool to be in this expansive red rock country just finding our way through.  Pritchett arch is huge and in such an out of the way place it was fun to see.  The run along Hunters Rim looking down into Hunter Canyon is also pretty spectacular.

We then took the Kane road to the start of the Amasa back trail system, up Cliffhanger trail with lots of bikers and Jeeps.  We followed this all the way to the Jackson overlook.  Oreo powered past this mountain biker near the steep top and really pissed him off in a friendly way, just to have a runner blow by him when he was working so hard himself.  The overlook puts you 1000 feet or so above the valley below.  Stunning views.  Then off to Potash Arch trail with a loop down Rockstacker and Jackson trails to complete the loop.  We were both out of water and I was seriously underfueled and totally done...I'm going to somehow have to figure out how to get gels in on a regular basis if I hope to finish Squaw...I also nearly died fording the Kane river near the end that had us cross nearly chest deep ice cold water for 25 to 30 feet...I seriously could not breathe for a bit without major painful effort.

Anyway fun, glorious stuff.  It's good to be alive and it's good to be in Moab.

Great report - brohiem. I'll have to remember to tell you not to look into the lights when we get by a river again.. Great times..and you ate that fruit pie like momma made it...

Wow, great run boys. So jealous, that looks awesome. As for gels, maybe you should try something else; shot blogs, Gu chomps, granola bars, beef jerkey, whatever. As long as you can get the calories, anything goes really.

Watching all of our cool trail runners on this site I'm think we need to maybe do a trail runners festival!!! Maybe that's what I'll use Quest for King's for.

Great run guys. I agree with Jun, we should get all of the local boys together for a sweet trail run. You guys should definitely plan on Quest for kings this year.
