So I've basically taken the last two months off from running, and while it has been nice to kind of reset I'm ready to get back on the grind. I want to run a decent time in a marathon this fall so I figure I should start getting back into the swing of things now.

Came home from work and was about to head out the door when Trev came out of his room and said he wanted to run too, so I ended up going with him. We just ran nice and easy down to Lakeside park and did one lap together, then he headed back and I did two more before running back home. six miles in all.

After I ate dinner I headed over to the climbing gym. Climbed for about 30 minutes and did some weights, as well as 50 pushups and 30 pullups. got extremely close on a V4 I've been working on in the cave as well as a really pinchy one on the corner. I can get to the last move on both of them, but have yet to figure them out completely.

Felt really inspired today to strive towards bettering myself physically in the coming year today. I'm gonna try to stay consistent with running and climbing, and am working on eating better too. I'm gonna try to be back on the blog everyday to kind of help hold myself accountable.

Got home from work and was pretty wiped out so I took an hour long nap before heading out for my run. Just did a loop from my house out to the harmons at the mouth of provo canyon and came back through the neighborhoods. Felt pretty decent and it's definitely the longest I've run this year. Ended up being about exactly 8 miles. Afterwards did about 15 minutes of core and 100 pushups.

Nic is coming into town from Breckenridge on Friday so I'm pretty stoked for that, we are heading down to Goblin Valley so maybe we'll do a run down there. Also forgot to mention I did 30 pullups at work today

Ran with Will today. We went on the usual loop from his house down to Orem jr, did a couple laps on the track, then went and did two intermountain health care laps before coming back. IT band is feeling a lot better the last week so I'm gonna try and get at least five runs in this week.

Later went to the climbing gym. I almost finished a v6 but messed up on the final two moves. After about an hour and a half of climbing I did a hundred pushups and 50 pullups. definitely the strongest I have ever been right now.

Didn't get out the door until 11:30 PM but I'm glad I went. Did a lap at Lakeside then went and ran around on the golf course before coming back and doing one another. Felt pretty good and once I got back I found out I averaged 6:30 pace which I was pretty happy about.

First official day of marathon training ! Just did a few grass laps at lakeside with 4x100m strides afterwards. Didn't feel great, but that was to be expected with my lack of training the last few months. I'm gonna ease back into it over the next month and then start hitting more mileage and tougher workouts once July rolls around. The goal is to run under 2:40 at the St George marathon in October, so I've got a ways to go fitness wise but I know its doable. I'm feeling super motivated and wrote out a training plan that I think can get me into killer shape over the next four and a half months.

Afterwards did 100 pushups, 50 pullups on the hangboard, and 15 min of core.

Today I ran over to the hospital, did three laps then headed back. About a mile in I realized I might be in big trouble if I didn't find a bathroom very soon, and just as I was giving up hope I found a portapotty that was not there yesterday by one of the soccer fields. Check mate aetheists. After that I felt fan-f****ing-tastic and cruised the last few miles at a much quicker pace than anything I've run in a few months.

Afterwards did some range of motion and stretching, then did 100 pushups and like 25 pullups.

Same as yesterday with three hospital laps, but took the long way to get there by going up to state street first. Stomache felt not great, but got through it well enough. Saw my cousin-in-law coaching soccer when I got there which was fun.

Afterwards did 100 pushups, 50 pullups, and core.

Ran out to state street and then went back to the usual route that me and Will always do. Felt pretty good.

Nice memorial day trail run with Will today. We drove up to the dry canyon parking lot and headed north on the BST over to Battlecreek where we cruised up to the falls. Perfect day for a run, and it's extremely green right now.

Ran with Will out to Lakeside then looped through Vineyard. Not the most exciting run but it went by quick.
