A "Winter" series it was. The roads were covered with a couple inches of snow but not too much ice which made it runnable. I wore my trail shoes and ran about a minute slower than I wanted to. Even if the conditions were perfect I still probably wouldn't have broken 16. It was incredible that Garek ran a 15:21 and Riley a 15:29 despite the road conditionas, running into a guy on the way back and having to come to complete stop at the turnaround. I suspect Garek would have run ~14:45 on a good day which would have broken the CR.
Warmed up 3.5 solo then cooled down 4.5 with a group of guys. Finished out of the "money/gift card" behind Garek, Riley, and Nathan Peters. Not bad company.
I estimate around 250 people ran the race which is a great turnout considering the conditions. The SLCTC always does a great job and the organizers are the best.
