| Instead of getting in my car and going to the gym I decided to venture out on the road and run at Sugar House Park. I made it 2 times, yes 2 times, around the park and was able to finish with a 5:30 mile. 6:27 average for the run. My fitness is fine because I have been spinning at the gym and doing other random exercises but knee just isn't ready for anything serious. A 5k might be in the near future.. |

| I went to the gym prepared with swimming fins, running shoes, and my new water running shoes. It took me about 65 minutes to water run a mile (72 lengths). It was definitely the slowest and hardest mile I have ever run. It was a huge struggle at first but I made a break through once I figured out that breathing was much easier with my face above the water. Odd how that works. After the run/swim I decided that I needed to redeem myself by running a mile on the treadmill. That mile was 10 times faster (6:30). |

| 10k in 36 mins. I woke up 45 minutes late so I was in a huge hurry. Miles varied from 6:10 to 5:20. The hilly miles were more painful than they should have been. |

Ran up through Tanner's Park and along the newly paved path for the first time. It's quite nice and the scenary/fall colors were amazing. The knee didn't get nearly as sore as my 13 miler last Sunday and the course was much hillier. This is a good sign. Maybe just maybe, I will end up on the first page of the Mileage Board next week!

| 1/2 hour on the stair stepper and then 10 miles at about 6:30 pace and 1.5% incline on the treadmill. The gym was extra busy today because of the rain. What I don't understand is why most of the TVs were set to infomercials when we could have been watching football. |

| 75 minute spin and 2.3 miles on treadmill. Miraculously I managed to wake up at 5:15 am. I was considering running the Halloween Half tomorrow but I figured it wasn't worth the risk considering that it drops 2000 ft. So does anyone else think we have too many downhill road races? What ever happened to a loop? Busses aren't involved and knees are happier. Downhill courses might be faster but they aren't more fun in my opinion. |
