Ran from the cabin to West Yellowstone. I thought it would be 20 miles but turned into 23. Sat in a sprinkler while I waited for my ride.

Just curious, you worried at all about bears when you are running up there?

I used to run more in the hills and on the firetrails but now I stick mainly on the dirt road for that exact reason. The roads seem perfectly safe to me and if it weren't for my sister and mom telling me not to run in the hills I would probably still do it. Maybe I should try carrying bear spray or one those big hand guns.

i would definitely consider a hand gun. i carry mine even in liberty park.

big miles this week. nice job, fritz.

There must be some sort of belt holster in the ultrarunning world that allows you to carry 6 water bottles, 15 gels, and two .44 magnum handguns specifically for these type of situations.

Are you and Jake in some sort of contest to see which one can run 200 miles in one week first?

Crazy miles!!

I find that running in Bear and Cougar infested areas helps get the HR up. Good alternative to the regular tempo runs.
