My goal was sub 3, but I was never convinced I could run that and I didn't. I started a bit too slow and got progressively slower. Thing is, I didn't really care that I wasn't hitting my splits. Toward the end my motivation was just to keep running so that I could cross the finish line and stop running. I fueled and hydrated well. I didn't feel the heat was a problem. The head wind wasn't an issue. I am neither satisfied nor really disappointed. I don't feel burnt out, just ambivalent. I think I like running a lot more than I like trying to run fast (for me). I did get to see quite a few forum friends, including meeting the famous Kelli and her husband for the first time. Kelli must have been right on my heels at the finish. I'm surprised she didn't run me over. The big question is, what's next? The Slam? More trail races? Another shot at sub 3? Gluttony? Slothfulness? I really wish races didn't fill up so early so that I could ponder for a long time.
