Did your niece push the pace? :)

From fly on the Wall on Fri, Apr 11, 2014 at 11:45:02 from 168.180.63.241

Thanks Dale. Tomorrow is the Bonneville Shoreline Trail Marathon. My plan is to run 15 or 16 miles of it.

Rhett, She did push the pace at least for the first 1/4 mile. :) After a mile she was ready to turn back.

So how did you do at the BST trail marathon? How many miles did you end up doing?

From fly on the Wall on Tue, May 06, 2014 at 09:58:45 from 168.180.63.241

Hey Dale. BST was great. I ran the first two loops for 15.4 miles. I was really happy I did not run the last loop because it would have put the hurt on me! As it was I finished strong and felt great.

Wish you could have seen the beautiful rock I did today. I especially wish you could have told me what exactly I was looking at. :-)

Hi Mark! Howzit going? Any Fall race/marathon in your plan? Miss ya! :)

From fly on the Wall on Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 16:47:06 from 168.180.63.241

Hi Smooth,

I was traveling in Peru with my family for June and didn't run. Then I started building my mileage in July but crashed my bike and got a concussion. So I couldn't run for a few weeks. Now it is August and I'm just starting to build base miles. Maybe I'll try the Goblin Valley Marathon or maybe I'll sign up for Ogden or ???????

From Smooth on Thu, Aug 14, 2014 at 13:57:02 from 65.130.110.24

Sounds like a fun (the Peru vacation) and crazy (the concussion, yikes) summer! Glad you're back on the saddle.

I vote for Goblin Valley! It's so beautiful. You can take your whole family there for a camping trip!

Starting building base = We should see some posts now!!! :-)

It's September!

How are you?

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Sep 09, 2014 at 09:41:26 from 168.180.63.241

I think my head is all better. I've even regained some memories of the morning of the day of my concussion.

I'm back up to 50+ miles a week, though taking an ez week now.

Still haven't pulled the trigger on Goblin Valley M but getting closer to doing so.

I've been tracking my mileage with Garmin and haven't been motivated to post here.

From Teena Marie on Sat, Sep 13, 2014 at 12:32:45 from 199.201.101.113

Well, for what it's worth, I miss your posts!!!

When is Goblin Valley, anyhow? Isn't it right after SGM?

I'd love to hear your recovered memories of that day!

From Smooth on Thu, Sep 18, 2014 at 15:52:59 from 71.219.156.153

Pull the trigger on GV yet?

From MarcE on Tue, Oct 07, 2014 at 12:46:47 from 74.221.106.4

Hey Fly..I posted my SGM report. Missed so many of my good friends this year.

Come back to us, Fly!

From DaleG on Sun, Jan 31, 2016 at 14:13:12 from 170.72.51.221

I don't think fly or Andy will come back to the blog :(

From fly on the Wall on Sun, Jan 31, 2016 at 20:50:05 from 75.162.88.196

Hmmm..... maybe?

I'm still running, just not as much. I was pondering Ogden for the spring. Haven't committed in part because I'm not sure how to fit in winter long runs now that I'm trying to keep up with my kids while skiing.

Also, I ran Ogden last spring and about froze. I was OK during the race but as soon as I crossed the finish line I started going hypothermic. I was shivering and shaking uncontrollably, had a serious loss of dexterity, but was still mostly coherent when I made it to my car and cranked the heat.

Hey that sounds a bit like a race report!

From Teena Marie on Sun, Jan 31, 2016 at 21:51:48 from 199.79.55.13

Hey, you are there!!!! Woot woot!!!! Ry and I have been wondering how you are doing! Any time we are out exploring amongst the red rocks and see something cool we both say, "I bet Fly would love this! " Or, "I bet Fly could tell us why that is like that.", etc.

So, I have the solution for your hypothermia in May! Shelbey (my physical therapy assistant) is going to run her first marathon, and try to BQ simultaneously, at the Charleston Revel marathon on May 7th. I am going to run it as well, and depending on how Boston goes, try to help her qualify. It looks CRAZY fast! The website states it is roughly 9-11 minutes faster than SGM. AND . . . It is in Vegas!! So no hypothermia in May!!!!

What do you say? :-)
