Man did this run feel awful. It somehow snowed a ton, and I did the trail from last week and it was awful, super muddy and slippery. My watch (Hopefully) bugged out because it told me avg pace was 6:50, then not 2 minutes later said 7:20, and I felt consistent at the time. I sort of just gave up after that, My lungs were burning in a terrible way and I just didn't feel good at all. I didn't walk despite wanting to on the huge hill so that makes it a little better. Not really sure what I did to deserve this.
I went to the rec center after school to run instead of the team run and I don't even slightly regret it. 10 minute warm-up, went to the restroom, 5 minutes of speed changes, then (originally) 3x1000's fast. I wanted to do all three but I had a feeling that with the still lingering sickness my body might not handle it, and I've seen way too many treadmill failure videos to not be wary today. First 1000 was 2:53. Man that one was hard to push through, I was nervous because I stumbled and my quads were feeling it. Next one was on pace for a 2:58 but I couldn't push through and stopped at about 2 minutes in. I did a 600 after that in 1:39 and it was a real struggle. Made it through though. 20 minute cooldown, I was going to do 4x200m strides but I did one in 29 and my quads were saying I was done so I listened. Had a good conversation with Steven at the rock wall after, he got called in because no one showed up for what he was told to be a 30 minute shift, they didn't come in for two hours. I stayed and talked to him the whole shift, it was a good time. 11 for the day. Good stuff from everyone today
