| | Met at Stockton's house to do a quick 8 up Smithfield Canyon. Good temperature once you got going, a bit cold. Roads were a little icy. We tried to hit the last 1.6 fast to bring our average pace down. last mile was a 5:24. It actually felt really good and effecient. Total average pace 6:51

| | Of course, I got awful sleep (4 hours) ...actually its starting to be more average. The run was good, almost 11 miles with a pretty solid pace. 1 beast repeat and 2 beauty. With Conner and Stockton for most of it, Alex and Caleb ran the first half.

| | 2 mile warmup with Stockton, Conner, and Jordan. 3 miles tempo on the track (5:26, 5:28, 5:21). It hurt but not unusually. Legs a little tired, but this has been a huge mileage week for me so it's all good. Stockton, Jordan, and Trevor (met us at the track later) ran parts of it. Conner paced me the last 800. 2 miles cooldown.

| | Finally getting better sleep... 8 hours. I just wasn't really feeling it today, my stomach hurt, legs are shot and I was just weak mentally. It was a good slow recovery. Hopefully tomorrow goes a bit better. Easy tomorrow and a 10k race on saturday.

| | (not sure on the sleep time) Today, we did a longish pre-meet. Golf course extended + a little bit of Smithfield Canyon. My legs are pretty tired, but it was an easy run. Hopefully the turkey trot goes well tomorrow!

Turkey Trot 10k (6.29 Miles) 00:37:49, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | Today, was the Turkey Trot annual race, Conner (didn't race but just ran the warmup), Stockton, and I warmed up in the gym around the track, just 1 easy mile to get warmed up.
The race officials had us meet inside because the weather was so awful. We all headed outside into the crazy wind and rain and got on the start line. One kid lined up beside me wearing only a singlet, shorts, and racing flats...crazy. Anyways, they started the race, and that same kid and I immediately opened a good size gap. We were neck and neck halfway up the first hill, but I surged partway up and really dropped him. The 5k course and 10k course are the same for the first 2 miles. I was able to get to the 5k turnoff first. Even before any 5kers. We cut across the road and were now facing the wind, this part was slow, and brutally cold. I widened the gap and from there it was a pretty boring race. I got to the finish and won by maybe a minute or so in a 37:49. It wasnt as fast as I hoped, but lots better than last years 40:02. All in all, it was very cold, lots of fun and I ended up with 2 free turkeys! (1 for winning, 1 from a raffle) Hopefully I'll be back next year!
I went back to the track to do a few more miles later.
