Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

6:54 pace coming home from a park a bit past the church, after I pushd the stroller for a few miles at the park. Not worth explaining why. Heading to Maryland tmrw and hoping they have good running.

57 minutes in deep creek maryland, distance approximated. Probably less than that but equivalent effort. This is a very hilly but beautiful place. It's just like a quiet, thick forest and there were some nice evening clouds.

Yikes, I guess I was going slower than I thought. Today I actually mapped it out and it looks like I was only running about 7:43 pace. I mean, there was over 400 feet of elevation gain in the 4.2 miles so I feel like that is for a reason. But I was trying to keep it calm as well because of my foot. Super pretty though. Another quiet cloudy morning running through beautiful woods with only occasional cars.

7:36 mile pace in the rain, similar route to last time. Felt ok, though these hills clearly put strain on my hips, feet, and knees, etc.

Once again I'm not sure how far I went. Ran nice and slow, but my hip started hurting. I'm grateful that my achilles tendon and feet have been fine, but I'm definitely ready to get back on the flat.

Looks like I ran even slower today, so I only got aprroximately a  measly 9.5 miles out of my 74 minute run. Thankfully my hip didn't feel terrible. The plan is to do a long run on monday.
