Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :)

AM: 10 miles with Josh, including five strides.

PM: 5 miles. One of the reasons I realize having a training partner is so good is that they keep you relaxed and not too focused on running. That sounds weird but it’s true- you shouldn’t be thinking about running all the time (which if you only think about while you run, feels like all the time when you’re running 80 mile weeks). Anyway. Achilles’ tendon feeling a little bit.

Sarah and I are headed to St. George today so I did my long run this morning. Josh wanted to come to which was nice. I was just telling him how I love storms and I wouldn’t mind personally if it was a thunderstorm on my wedding day and right then it started raining on us. He told me I got my wish haha. Interesting weather, it was pouring on us for a bit. Oh by the way, SHOUTOUT TO BYU!!!!! 1-3-4 at 10K nationals last night. That’s insane. Like, insane.
