Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

7:02 pace, west river road. Was a very nice morning other than the bad air quality. Underneath my face covering (for warmth) I wore a K95 mask (for my lungs) which was made less comfortable because my sickness has caused me to have lots of snot. All those things together weren't the best but it could have been worse.

Freezing rain last night so I couldn't run outside this morning, though I'm sure I could have later. Apparently I did a 4 mile tempo run at 5:00 pace. I say apparently because I don't know how grounded in reality that was. It felt hard but not hard like a normal tempo run would be.

7:18 pace. I did not select the best route for avoiding ice. It was nice to run outside without a mask though!

7:02 pace. I looped around to do transit way because the snow has gone away and its just ice on the dinkytown greenway so I didn't want to run that way twice.
