When I was gone doing interviews I ran 4 times, for a total of maybe 15-18 miles. Besides those runs, this is the first run I have done since TOU in Spetember. My next marathon is Utah Valley. I am going to train different than I have for all the other 10 or so marathons I have done. I have always trained by distance run, and I have never tried to control my pace or try to stay in any sort of zone. This time I am doing all my runs by time on the road, and trying to stay in certain time zones. Maybe it will be a bust, but maybe I will like it and do better. I guess I will find out in about 7.5 months.

Today I warmed up for 5 minutes, ran for 30 minutes trying to maintain a pace of around 7:39, then cooled down for 5 minutes. I went 5.16 miles, but 1.22 of those were during warm up/cool down stages.

5 minute warm up followed by 40 minutes trying to stay around 7:36 pace. My actual pace was 7:35 over the 40 minutes, so not bad. Then 5 minutes of cool down. My cool down mostly consisted of slow walking while clenching my butt cheeks together and hoping that I could make it home before I embarrassed myself in public.

9 miles. I did a 5 minute warmup followed by an hour trying to stay around a 7:36 pace. Then a 5 minute cool down. My average pace was 7:36. Going out seemed easy, but coming back was terrible. There was a strong wind that was blowing pretty much in my face for the last 30 minutes of the run. I was still able to maintain my desired pace, but I am really sore and may have over done it.
