It's nice to have some actual running miles to report. I have been off for six weeks. Although I enjoyed cycle, lifting classes, zumba and lots ofctime on the elliptical, I am looking forward to running outside again.

This morning I just ran around the neighborhood to feel out my hip. It felt pretty good for a first run. I felt a little rough running. But, my body will remember how to run. I should start feeling better shortly.

Later I took a total body strengthening class. I can tell the lifting will pay off. Even though I felt awkward running, I did feel strong.

SLCC loop. I am so sore from yesterday's class. I upped my weight on deads and lunges. It was not the most pleasant run so I was happy it was short. Later I took a cycle class. My legs are toast now!

4800S to river trail loop. I'm not quite as sore as I was yesterday. Oh it's nice to run again. 7:11 average pace. If I'm cautious it shouldn't take too long to get back to form. No rush though.

After running I took a 45 minute Body Pump class followed by a 30 minute Core Works class. The soreness will be back tomorrow with a vengeance.

2700S to canal road. I felt great today which was surprising considering the strength work yesterday. 7:13 average. After running I took a cycle class. It didn't feel as nice as running.

2200w to 4100s to 2700 w to 5400s. I ran early this morning. It took a mile to start rolling. I'm starting to inch the runs up. Tomorrow I'm planning on six to seven miles. 7:10 average. I was pushing this morning.

Later AM: Zumba class and lifting.

I had pretty fatigued legs from clean and presses and step-ups yesterday.  They weren't firing very well.  It was a slow start to the run, but it picked up the last 3 miles.  I ran 1300W to WInchester, to the river trail, and off the trail at Millrace Park. 7:24 pace.

When I got home I rode the spinning bike for another half hour.  I kept it pretty easy.  I just wanted to keep the blood moving through the legs.

This was a good first week of running.  30 miles plus 3 hours of cross training, which equals about 15 more miles, though I won't count it in my running total.  I did three days of lifting, also.

I think my first race will be Murray 5k, though it will mostly be for fun.  I don't plan on adding any significant speed work until after that race.  I have a little seed of a plan in the back of my mind to possibly aim for CIM as a sea-level marathon.  But, I need to make sure I get back to full training safely.  It's nice to have even an inkling of a plan, though.
