Running Accomplishments:

I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.

Personal:

I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride".

Did a lot today, but caught a bit of time before bed to do leg lifts and free weight lifting. Only did a total of 6 different sets at 45 reps each (with one set at 100 reps)- Mind you, these are only 5 pound weights. I would have liked to complete my sets (I have about 8 different sets total I think, but I was tired). I want to move up to maybe 8 or 10 pounds soon, but I haven't wanted to go to the store and buy them!

Went on the elliptical today. Did a warm up at 4 resistance for 6 minutes or so. Then did another 45 minutes at 5 and 6 resistance. After that, did cool down stretches and did leg lifts and 3 different sets of squats. I finished up with 11 different sets of crunches at 25 reps each (total 275). Stretched again and jumped in the shower.

Stretched and did Power90 Cardio/Sweat 3-4 this evening. (Power yoga, kickboxing, jumping jacks, running, punching..full body workout)! Afterwards, did leg lifts, lunges, and three different sets of squats. Stretched again and did 11 different sets of crunches at either 35 or 40 reps. I did 400 crunches total and did final stretching. Now getting in the tub to shave because all that stretching made me realize how stubbly my legs are! haha
