
| Location: Pittsfield,MA,USA Member Since: Jan 08, 2009 Gender: Female Goal Type: Recover From Injury Running Accomplishments: I ran Varsity Track and Field in high school and was primarily a sprinter (100m, 200m). I also did the 400m, 4x400m, long jump and triple jump. Sprinting comes most naturally to me, but I am opening myself up to trying new things and increasing my endurance. I didn't get into running any long distance events until I met Benn and I'm still getting used to it! Short-Term Running Goals: I sprained my ankle the night before Thanksgiving 2008 which forced me to come back from that injury. Right now I am primarily doing running workouts in the 5k range, hiking, trail running, and some cycling. I also do lot of stretching and some free weight exercises, along with some cardio & yoga here and there.
Long-Term Running Goals: To stay healthy and active. To make exercise a permanent part of my life. To act as a roll model for wellness.
Personal: I live in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Am currently working at a day spa but am taking steps to work in a laboratory. Getting marriedto the guy of my dreams, Benn, in October 2010 and am honored to be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Lots of excitement and planning to do, but taking it all in "stride". | | Been feeling noticibly tired lately and dispirited for the past two days. Decided a run would make me feel better. Stretched and ran 4.1 miles at 6.2 to 6.0mph at 2% incline. Then did a cool down of 1.1 miles at 5.0 to 4.1mph and 2% incline. Did more stretching, free-weight lifting, leg lifts, squats, and lunges. | | Add Comment |

Stretched and ran on the treadmills for 3.21 miles @ 6.0 to 6.1mph and 2% incline. Then did a cool down of 1 mile at 4.5 to 4.0mph and 2% incline (with the last 10 minutes or so using 2-lb. free weights). Stretched some more and then upstairs to balance my checkbook and wash a ton of dishes :( Booooo.

| | Did a nice run with Benn today on the Ashuwillticook Trail and Benn got to try out his new 5 finger shoes. They look comfortable and really cool! He had a good conversation with a woman in the parking lot about them and about running, biking, and strengthening. There is so much knowledge and personal experience behind everything he says. I am envious at how brilliant he is about this stuff. Stretched and ran about 3 miles with a 1 mile cooldown (with Benn wearing his new shoes). It was a fun date, but very humid outside!

| | Decided to do Power 90 Cardio 1-2 today. It includes things like power yoga, lateral leg work, kickboxing, jumping jacks, running in place, etc. The did 10 sets of 30 crunches each for a total of 300. Then did 30 leg lifts on each side. Of course, lots of stretching, too! | | Add Comment |
