After dealing with consistent hip injuries from my freshman year of college (2018) to my junior year (2021), I have been determined to stay injury free, and enjoy training to become the best runner I can be. Dealing with previous injuries so much taught me that persistence is key, and to never give up. Had I given up, I may never have made this log. Short-Term Running Goals: Finally break 15 in the 5k (on the road and on the track)
PR in an indoor 3k.
Focus on recovery and run slow on easy days.
Run consistent high-mileage weeks.
Long-Term Running Goals: -To stay consistent, dedicated, injury-free, have fun, and get faster.
Personal: Just concluded my sixth year of cross country at Edinboro University. I graduate with my master's in corporate communication with a focus in digital marketing in mid-january, 2024.
I am going to keep training in hopes to qualify for the olympic trials in the marathon or half-marathon someday. Until then, let's run. |

| | AM- 10.21
Early morning with a smaller group of guys. Took a while to wake up but once I did, I felt pretty good. Finished this up with 6x100 meter strides, hurdle drills, and a lift.
|
| | AM: 12.10- warmup was around 2.5 miles and cooldown was around 1.5 miles.
Workout was 20x400 @71-70, split into 4x(5x400) w/ equal rep rest and 3 min jog set rest. I felt pretty smooth as this was a bigger session on the indoor track (too many laps aggrevate my hips), but I felt fine. It felt good to get into a rhythm with the 10k guys.
PM: 5 mile double. Legs didn't feel too bad even though I had to rush this because of night class.
|
| | AM- 9.01
A solo recovery run early before work. Legs did not feel great but I kept it rather slow.
|
| | AM- 10.3
Sluggish this morning as it was cold and I was a bit tired. Ran our normal loop with a bigger group of guys. 6x100 meter strides after.
|
| | AM: 10.01 miles
W got off to a slow start with Nick because it was so windy and cold. It got better on the way back. My legs felt a bit tired but otherwise, I felt good. Did a lift after.
PM: 5.12 miles
Tested out my new Nike invincibles and they felt pretty good. It was snowing pretty heavily and was also very icy. It's safe to say the long run/workout may be on the treadmill tomorrow am.
|
| | AM: Longrun workout on the treadmill due to the ice outside. Warmed up 6 miles in 43 minutes and then went right into:
2 miles in 10:26 (5:14/5:12)
1 mile off @ 6:15
2 miles in 10:08 (5:04/5:04)
1 mile off @ 6:15
4x90 seconds on @4:45-4:43/90 seconds off @6:25
2 miles cooldown in 14:55
felt smooth and controlled which was surprising given it was a furnace in the training room. Easy recovery tomorrow to hit around 80 for the week.
|
| | AM: Just over 8 miles easy after the conclusion of my cross season a couple of days ago. Bittersweet ending to 6 years of competitive running. However, we are keeping the dream alive, one run at a time.
|
| | PM: 12 miles
*Attempt at 10x3min on/2off.
Only made it to 8 running the ons around 5:20 pace and the offs around 6:10 pace.
My legs are still thrashed from the weekend. Oh well. Let the fun of solo running and making up workouts on your own begin.
